What’s the difference between a checklist and running one?

A checklist is your reusable list (e.g. “Weekend Trip”). When you tap Start Checklist, you create a run you can tick off — without changing the original. Reuse it as many times as you like.

How do I add sections?

When creating or editing a checklist, tap Add section to create a header, then add items beneath it.

How do I send a copy of a checklist?

Open a checklist and tap ⋯ → Share to send it as a link. Whoever receives it adds their own copy to their library.

How do I delete an item or a checklist?

Swipe left on any item to delete it — no edit mode needed. You can also swipe left on a checklist, or on a past run in History, to remove it.

Can I pin or reorder my checklists?

Yes. Pin your favorites so they stay at the top, and long-press any checklist to drag and reorder your library.

Where can I see checklists I’ve completed?

The Activity tab keeps your history — every run, with the dates you started and finished it. You can show or hide history in Settings.

Can I open the app with the Action Button?

Yes — on iPhone 15 Pro and later, go to Settings → Set up Action Button in the app for a guided walkthrough.

Where is my data stored?

On your device. There are no accounts, and your checklists never leave it unless you choose to: turning on iCloud Sync (Pro) syncs your library through your own iCloud, and sharing a list sends an end-to-end-encrypted copy. See our Privacy Policy.

Does it work offline?

Yes — the app works fully offline, always.

Does it work on iPad and Mac?

Yes — since version 1.4 the same app runs on iPhone, iPad, and Apple silicon Macs, with layouts that adapt to the larger screen. One purchase covers all of them.

How do I keep my lists the same on all my devices?

Turn on Settings → iCloud Sync (part of Checklist Pro) on each device. Your library syncs through your own iCloud — no account, no server of ours — and comes back after a reinstall.

Can I paste a list instead of typing it?

Yes — paste into Quick Add, any Add an item field, or the editor. Every line becomes an item; bullets are cleaned up, “x2” becomes a quantity, and “Heading:” lines become sections.

I finished a checklist by mistake — can I edit it?

A completed run shown from History is a finished record and is view-only. Just start a fresh run from the checklist to go again.

How do I send feedback or report a problem?

In the app, go to Settings → Provide Feedback to report a problem, suggest a feature, or just say hi. You can also email info@getchecklist.app.
